Collection pearls (version 2)

Collect pearls by arranging 5 or more of the same kind in a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal). Each pearl scores 1. In longer rows, every pearl exceeding 5 scores 2. To move a pearl, first click on it, then click on the target field. There must be a free path leading to the target! There is a "wildcard" pearl (you know it if you see it) that can be use in place of any other. The game is over if all fields are taken. If you are among the top 10, you may inscribe yourself into the hall of fame.

This version is a standalone program. You can start it by clicking on this button:

It can also be started outside of a browser by launching this command:
javaws http://sudrala.de/perlen/perlen.jnlp
Windows users may want to create a shortcut to javaws on the desktop. The full path is usually something like
C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaws.exe
Right click on the shortcut, select properties / shortcurt / target and append the parameter http://sudrala.de/perlen/perlen.jnlp.

For technical reasons, the program had to be signed. Therefore at the first start you'll be shown a certificate which you can either accept or decline. Accept it! First of all, the game wouldn't run otherwise. Secondly, don't worry - the certificate has been issue by a person widely known as trustworthy [1]

The game can be controlled via the menu or the toolbar icons at the top. A short description of a symbol appears if the you let the mouse rest on it.

Games can be saved and restored using the "Game" menu or the corresponding icons. Each game is saved in a separate File with the suffix .prl. The built-in file chooser shows a minimized image of the field and the score on the right of the file name.

Under "Options / preferences" you may choose between 2 pearl sets. In the future, more sets may be added (proposals are appreciated). Switching sets is possible at any time and doesn't affect the running game.

If "Auto save" is selected, the program saves a game at the end (and whenever necessary), and automatically loads and continues the last played game during start-up. A nameless game will be stored internally and also continued at the next start. Thus, with this option set, a game can be stopped and continued as often as required without having to be saved explicitly.

Due to the changed conditions, a separate high-score list has been created for this version. - Have fun!
